The Nature Nerd has been diving quite a bit lately, back in one of her favorite spots: Grand Cayman. Soon we’ll be adding more photos. The diving was coooold over the New Year holiday, but the water was clear and beautiful as always. Unfortunately, we saw lots of Lionfish, which are proving to be a major threat, as they are an invasive species. There was a lot of turtle action, good fish cleaning station viewing, there were lots of eels and we saw some schooling Spotted Eagle Rays. The fish behavior is always so interesting to watch. It really is a whole other world down there, which is difficult to comprehend when you look out over the expanse of flat calm ocean. It is a reminder that the ocean isn’t a void for us to abuse, but a vast receptacle for everything we do on land. It all ends there and when the ocean is destroyed, we will be also. Hope the New Year is being good to everyone and that you get a chance to get outside and explore your world, whether it be a deep ocean, a foreign land or even just your backyard!
Welcome!
Hello and welcome to my site. This site represents one of my biggest passions: nature. My awe or nature and its beauty inspires me to attempt to capture it for the sole purpose of sharing it with others. Every photo has a story and gives me the chance to revisit a special moment spent connecting with the subject. I hope that a moment here will provide a respite for you, especially if your stuck inside somewhere, dying to get out. If an image inspires you to explore the natural world, or just seek more information, then I have accomplished one of my goals in life. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or wish to purchase a limited edition print, custom and personalized calendar or portfolio “coffee table” book. Over time, I will be posting stories and background information on some of the images and as always will be adding more as I take them.
Thanks for taking time out of your day to visit, enjoy and may these images bring a little bit closer to outside!
Jessica
